This guide includes using administrative (elevated) privileges to ensure you have the necessary permissions. Open Command Prompt as Administrator Press Win + S, type “Command Prompt” in the search bar. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. Click Yes to allow elevated permissions if prompted. Change the Password -> see command below. Then log in to the account with the newly created password and press ctrl + alt+ delete to creat new "empty" password. In the elevated Command Prompt window, use the following command to change the password for a specific user account: net user <username> <newpassword> Replace <username> with the target username and <newpassword> with the new password you want to set. For example: net user johndoe NewPassword123! Confirm Success You should see a message saying “The command completed successfully.” This confirms the password was changed. Note: Be careful when entering the new password directly in Command Prompt, as it will be visible. For added security, you can also change the password via the Control Panel > User Accounts if you prefer a GUI method. Important Tips Make sure to run Command Prompt as administrator, or you will get a permissions error. Ensure the new password meets any password complexity requirements set on the system.
